Gait expert at A runner’s mind (ARM), since 2023, seasonal since 2025
on paper: shoe saleswoman.
actually: Collaborator, teammate, community builder, occasional 5k competitor
“We were fortunate to have Ellis with us at A Runner’s Mind for about a year and a half. Our store takes a strongly service-based approach to retail – more important than sales are empathy and a desire to share a love of running in the service of helping guests work towards their movement goals. Interactions with guests typically last upwards of 30 minutes, involving movement assessments and conversations about the guest’s goals and challenges, followed by shoe, insole, and training recommendations.
Ellis’s passion for running and movement was evident from her high school running career, and her capacity for care and empathy became clear as soon as she started working with us. Even during busy days in the shop (and that’s most of them!), Ellis was able to balance the demands of the job with ensuring that her guests were well cared for and felt well cared for. It was never a surprise to have a guest call us or email us after their visit praising Ellis’s service. We’re grateful for the time we had with her, and we’re excited to see where she’ll go next!”
